The PERS chainless system complies with the regulation No. 168/2013 exemption of homologation. Indeed it is considered as an equipment for pedal cycles with pedal assistance.

The European commission has confirmed the compliance of the chainless technology (also called series hybrid) with the regulation in 2022 - 12th Meeting of the Forum for the Exchange of Information on Enforcement (E03652) Point 6.
